Taking an Assessment in ANGEL is easy and straight forward (although the content covered may not be!). We are about to cover some preparations and tips for taking Assessments in ANGEL in addition to describing some of the Assessment behaviors you may observe while in ANGEL.
In ANGEL, the word "Assessment" is an umbrella term covering questions such as essay, multiple choice, true/false, and others. This is how instructors can offer assignments that you can respond to and be graded upon.
Assessment have a link you will click called "Begin (name of the Assessment). This starts the Assessment, so don't click Begin until you are really ready to begin!
Tips
- Click save! - At the bottom of all Assessment pages there is a Save button - Use it often! Saving does just that, saves your current progress in an Assessment. Should you lose power, should ANGEL choke and die, should your dog eat your computer, you saved and will be able to progress from the save point from any computer you continue with.
- Take Assessments on a good computer with a stable connection, (wireless at Beaner's may not be the best choice for a test taking venue)
- If you lose connection, and can't regain connection or you are being denied access to ANGEL or your course - report to the helpline right away. Calling in and getting a problem documented is the best way to resolve your problem.
NOTE: Students can use the HTML editor for essay responses making it easy to use math symbols, include graphics, and format responses.
Fair warning: a note about cheating
You should know that it is possible for instructors to track movement within
a course. Therefore, Assessments that are not intended to be "open book" should
be respected as such. Likewise, keeping other browser windows open while
taking an Assessment may cause technical difficulties with your computer/Assessment.
Online courses are subject to the same academic integrity guidelines as
traditional courses. Click
